Welcome to Dreamwood Studios, a specialty woodcrafts studio that features custom-made woodcraft art by Brian Howell, who has been woodcrafting for several years and has made many different pieces. Brian's woodcrafts include 3-D, Intarsia and Scrolled artwork; however, Intarsia art pieces are his specialty.

Brian's woodcraft art is special because each piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Once a piece is made there will never be another piece exactly like that one. If Brian makes another piece of that type, the pattern is altered significantly enough to ensure the new piece is an original in its own right.

Each piece of woodcraft art starts out as a pattern that Brian has either drawn by computer; or gotten from the Internet, a woodcraft magazine or book. The pattern is drawn or modified through the use of a computer graphics program such as Corel Draw®. Carefully selected wood is cut using the pattern and then hand-sanded and hand-finished.

3-D art pieces are made from cuts of wood that are put together to make a 3-dimensional work of art; such as a table, mantle piece or 3-D picture.

Intarsia art pieces are small cuts of wood that are sanded and put together to make a larger image. The many contours are what makes the artwork life-like.

Scrolled art pieces are made with a scroll saw. These pieces consists of wall hangings, small statues, designer plates, etc.
